If you have dreamed of owning a restaurant, and you are finally making that dream a reality, you want to make sure your opening night is a true success. Its been a long road, but you have finally reached your end goal, so it must go without a hitch. Here’s a brief guide to making your opening night a success.

Advertising and marketing

As well as having an amazing opening night, you also want to create a buzz around the restaurant itself. Making sure the locals know about it and creating a wider spread awareness will be good for future business.

Social media is a great way to spread the word about your launch. Create a post giving a brief synopsis of your restaurant, the food, and what you are trying to achieve and have friends and family share it. If you want to widen your audience even further, you can use the likes of Facebook to pay for targeted ads to be sent to those you feel would suit your demographic. Include sample menus together with rough price guides, and you should get a decent number of advance bookings. 

Get the locals involved

The local press are usually always after a good local story, so give them a call and tell them a bit about yourself and your new venture. They may agree to meet you in advance of your launch to take photographs and put together an article for the local paper.

Inviting key members of the local community to come along is a good idea too. Whether it’s the chairman of the local rotary club or local councilors, the exposure could bode well for your business.  

Perfecting your menu

You need to take time perfecting your menu and ensuring that it correlates with the vision you have for your restaurant. Take time to speak with your chef and agree a menu that will not only taste incredible but is in line with your financial budget. It’s a good idea to include a range of options such as fish, chicken, and vegetarian alternatives. Buying in bulk from a wholesale chicken meat distributor such as may reduce your costs substantially. Speak to local fishmongers to see if they can provide fish at a reduced cost if you place a sizeable order. Fresh, quality produce could make a huge difference to your success. Don’t have too many choices on your menu, however. If you go overboard, it can make things a lot harder for your kitchen staff, cause delays, and end with lots of unhappy customers.

This is your moment, the one you have been dreaming of for a very long time. Welcome your guests with a big smile and be confident. It has taken a long time to get here, so there is no shame in being extremely proud that your hard work and efforts have paid off. All you need to do now is enjoy your moment.
