Turn that locally picked produce into one of these farm fresh summer salads

3 summer salads

Two important items of note:

  1. I am not normally a bossy person. However, these are recipes meant to be used NOW.
  2. If you’re looking for a plain, old green salad, skip this article.
  3. If you’re looking for something a little bit different featuring farm fresh produce, keep reading.

Sweet Corn & Tomato Salad– Two ingredients that I really prefer when they’re local and freshly picked come together to make a salad that shouts, “Hello, summer!” Make it now while both ingredients are readily available at your local farmstand.

Peach Caprese Salad– Simple and elegant are the two words I would use to describe this salad. If you need a third, it would be surprising. Not only are you surprised by peaches in a caprese salad, you also will be shocked at how well everything pairs.

Fresh Peach & Tomato Salad When I first thought of this pairing, I wasn’t sure of the results. What I learned was that sweet peaches really work well with ripe tomatoes. You have to try it to see what I mean.

In the heat of August, it’s time to get some local produce and make a cool side dish to serve with dinner.
