Ingredients
2
cups
blackberries
2
tablespoons
balsamic vinegar
1+
tablespoon
granulated sugar
6
ounces
goat cheese
softened
2
ounces
cream cheese
softened
Instructions
Combine blackberries, vinegar, and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Mash berries.
Stir frequently, until sauce begins to boil.
Reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
Remove sauce from heat, and allow to cool for 30 minutes.
While sauce simmers combine goat and cream cheeses in serving dish.
Spread into an even layer.
Top cheese spread with compote.
Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
Serve with crackers, bagel chips, crostinis, or pretzels.
