They come in all different flavors, including dark chocolate, milk chocolate, strawberry, and orange. My favorite by far was the dark chocolate, and my least favorite was orange. The rice cake snacks were my favorites. At under 100 calories they are relatively diet-friendly and quite yummy. The chocolate ones will certainly maintain any cravings you get throughout the day.

The rice cakes themselves were a bit denser than any rice cake I have ever had, but they were enjoyable. They definitely are better than most diet snacks out there and much healthier for you than a candy bar. The dark chocolate coating was very good and definitely was enough to sustain my daily need for chocolate. The milk chocolate was my next favorite. It was slightly sweet in my opinion but still quite tasty. The strawberries and cream rice cake was next in line. I found it to be too sweet for my liking, but it had a very distinct strawberry shortcake flavor to it quite similar to the ice cream bars you used to gobble up as a kid. My least favorite had to be the orange. It tasted like an orange creamsicle but had a slight chemical taste to it. My mother, on the other hand, enjoyed it quite a lot. I, if you can’t tell, am a chocolate fanatic, so it makes sense my favorites were chocolate.

The corn cakes were good as well. They were dipped in milk chocolate. The corn cake itself was a bit hard for my liking, almost as if they were stale, but that may have just occurred through the shipping process. The taste of the corn cake was very good, a;though it had a slight sweet and salty thing going on that worked very well with the milk chocolate coating. These were under 100 calories as well.

The rice cakes came in a package of two rice cakes which provided two servings. I’m not sure if one cake would be enough to hold you over until dinner. The mini cakes came in a serving size package that was just that right amount. I wasn’t stuffed after eating my snack, but I wasn’t hungry until just before dinner either.

In the grand scheme of things the calorie count seemed good for a true diet food, but possibly not filling enough. However, they are perfect for when you need your chocolate fix. In comparison to a chocolate bar or some other unhealthy snack they are much better for you. Plus, these snacks are vegan, making them appealing to a wide audience.

Editor’s note- Our reviewer received complimentary rice & corn cakes from ELEMENT, but the opinion reflected in this article is solely hers.
