We had an enjoyable set of holidays at our home with our children and a set of grandparents. Christmas was a nonstop rotation of presents and food, which is the perfect way to spend the holiday: Open presents with immediate family, have breakfast. Open presents with grandparents/in-laws, have a snack. Open presents with aunts and uncles, have dinner. Yes, everyone liked the flow of that day.
The days that followed were busy and snow-filled. Thankfully we were able to fit in a family shopping trip, pre-snowstorm. Then we returned home for leisurely days of game playing, tv watching, and enjoying new

Dried Apricot Sauce
by TT on December 1st, 2010 | Recipes, Spreads & Sauces
For last week's Tapas Monday, I made Kale and Onion Polenta Crostini. For our second tapas dish, I had some chicken sausage that I planned on grilling in bite-sized pieces. Although it was garlic and cheese chicken sausage, it seemed like it would be bland when served next to the crostini. Of course, I made that decision around 6:00 on Monday night. At our house, fun dinners typically fall into one of two categories: make your own _________ (could be pizza, panini, quesadilla, etc.) or munchies. Balsamic Reduction
by TT on May 21st, 2010 | Recipes, Spreads & Sauces
As I sat here, mentally preparing this post, I had an internal debate: Is making a balsamic reduction a recipe, or should I create a helpful hint category?
The part of my brain that thought recipe won the debate, though by no means was it a firm and final decision. All that you need to make the reduction is one ingredient and time. So, I don't think that makes it a recipe. However, if you're seeking a delicious topping for vegetables, meat, and more, this "recipe" will give the ultimate finishing touch.
Besides being a delicious addition to a meal, it
