The last week of April we took two of our teens on a combined work/pleasure trip to the mid-Atlantic region. With a schedule of a few meetings here, a little sightseeing there, we were able to enjoy the kids' week off from school while maintaining a relaxed business schedule. Journeying down the Atlantic coast, we made stops in Baltimore and Philadelphia.
Of course, one of our purposes for visiting Philly was to see historic sites. However, I'd be fibbing if I didn't admit that an equally as important purpose was to eat cheesesteaks at Geno's and Pat's. I know, a

A few weeks ago, I had the good fortune of spending a few days with my parents. While we did spend every evening together, during the day we typically did things in pairs. Most of those days my mom and I spent time together, touring the area, browsing in shops, and stopping for a bite to eat. Out of our three different dining locations, two were excellent choices, and one was mediocre, at best. Of course, the important part of this trip wasn't the food, it was spending time with my parents. However, as I found a few great

I was invited to dinner at Ithaki last week. Bringing my husband for company, we made the hour drive in hopes of finding a tasty meal ahead. Much to our delight, we enjoyed a delicious three-course meal that was filled with great food, excellent service, and pleasant atmosphere.
Dining at
Ithaki on a Thursday night, we were 15 minutes early for our reservations but were able to be seated early. We were offered seats in the bar area near the evening's musical performer. Asked if this location would be acceptable, we agreed. The acoustic guitar made for great background

In August, my husband and I were able to plan a business/pleasure trip to NYC. After two days of meetings, we had a day and a half to enjoy the sights and tastes of Manhattan. We spent our last evening there roaming the Lower East Side, a section which we had not explored together previously. After a cocktail at a bar, we had a great first meal at
The Meatball Shop. From there we walked the third of a mile to our second dining experience of the evening,
Sorella.
We were brought to this restaurant, having seen

As noted on their website, "Pravda is an underground caviar bar." In addition, this Russian-themed bar also has a wide variety of Russian foods and an enormous vodka list. While a bar might seem to make a better review for our beverage publication,
Parched No More, with me in attendance, there is a focus on food. Although I enjoy a martini or two, it always needs to be accompanied by food. Let's just say I'm a lightweight, and keep it at that.
We arrived at Pravda at 9:00 on a warm Saturday night. While this is early to start

Have I mentioned that I love when travel, be it business or pleasure, brings me to Manhattan? It really is an amazing place to be. Earlier this month, I spent a few days there on business. With perfectly aligned schedules, my husband was able to schedule his work travel to match mine, which meant that our evenings could be spent trying new restaurants.
This trip stretched into the weekend, which allowed for even more time to explore different neighborhoods. After a multi-hour, 120 block walk during the midday, I found myself watching PBS in the late afternoon on Saturday. What
